I work as a medical oncologist at CION Cancer Clinics in Kukatpally. A medical oncologist is the doctor who treats cancer with medicines, that is chemotherapy, targeted therapy, immunotherapy, and hormone therapy. When surgery or radiation is needed, I coordinate your care with those specialists rather than work in isolation.

I practise evidence-based medicine. That means I will not recommend a drug just because it is new or expensive. The decision rests on your biopsy, your mutation report, and your general health. In lung cancer especially, I prefer to see molecular profiling, that is tests like EGFR, ALK, and PD-L1, before starting treatment, because these point to the right medicine for you.

When a patient comes to me, the first thing I ask is whether the diagnosis is truly complete. Often one small test is missing, and that one test can change the whole plan. I would rather wait for that single report than rush to start a medicine that might not be the right one.

I speak honestly with families. I will tell you how much a treatment is likely to help and what its limits are, because giving false hope is not fair to a patient.
